Sometimes I make stuff.
register_with_network.pl- A Perl script for automatically registering a computer with a
wireless network. I wrote this when I got sick of clicking through
the login screens at Caribou
Coffee. They changed the screen sequence once in a futile
attempt to confound me. The script works with the new Caribou
system at this writing.
- Restaurant Review Database
- This database started out as a friend's Microsoft Word list of
Austin restaurants for a co-worker, was transformed by another
friend into a wiki, and years later I implemented it in database
form. I borrowed the idea of dividing a city into sub-metro areas
from the Not For Tourists
Guides. The site is in eternal alpha testing mode.
- Firearms Database
- This project also started out in print
form: the
roleplaying game supplement Firepower!. I thought it'd
be nice to add discussion capabilities to the entries, and to group
guns with identical or near-identical designs. Was it nice? I have
no idea. But it's there, and will be in alpha testing mode until I
have a reason to finish it.
